In July this year Jacob and Emily along with their children will be going to Uganda. They will be meeting some of the 2750 people benefiting from the water tanks Mt Atkinson Coffee has funded this year
We are excited to continuing to partner with InPact Uganda and see 40 more water tanks installed, 38 domestic households and 2 Schools.
This project directly supports the coffee growing community, It is a beacon of hope for the local community, providing access to clean and safe water for thousands of residents. This initiative, spearheaded by Inpact, aims to address the pressing issue of water scarcity in the region.
Only 14% of Uganda’s population as access to potable water managed by the National water corp.
The impact of this project extends beyond just providing access to clean water. It has already started to empower local residents through training and equipping , particularly women and children, who are often responsible for fetching water. With easy access to clean water, families can devote more time to education, work, and other activities that can help improve their quality of life.
One of the key benefits of the Water Tanks is its focus on sustainability. The tanks are designed to harvest rainwater, which is then stored for future use. This not only ensures a consistent supply of clean water throughout the year but also includes restoration of polluted and degraded water sources.
