Description
Classic large mug, thrown on the pottery wheel in stoneware and double dipped glazed. This mug is perfect for hot drinks and everyday enjoyment, around 10oz, 9-10cm tall and with a handle but big enough for a two finger grip.
The small mug are almost half the size of our large mugs, they are around 7cm tall and 7cm wide, perfect for small hot drinks, like long black or as part of a tea set.
Flat white tumblers around 9.5cm high and around 8oz in volume.
Latte tumblers around 11cm high and around 12oz in volume.
Torea Pango is the Te Reo Maori word for the oystercatcher, Haematopus unicolor - a sea-coast wading bird slightly larger than the pied oystercatcher, with black-and-white or all-black plumage and a strong orange-red bill. Hangs around at our local, Titirangi beach.
Mug colour is matte dark grey/black.
Designed and created on Waiheke Island, New Zealand.
Dishwasher safe and hardwearing.
All items are hand made on the pottery wheel and will vary from size to size.

Shipping
Flat rate $5 NZD, free on orders over $45 (rural addresses add a $5 surcharge regardless of order size). We aim to dispatch same business day (next day at the latest) for orders in before our 9am cut-off. From there, expect 1–2 business days North Island, 2–3 South Island, plus a day or two extra for rural addresses. You'll get a tracking link the moment it's out the door.
Returns
Because coffee is a perishable product, we can't take change-of-mind returns once it's shipped. But if something arrives faulty, damaged, or wrong, we'll fix it - full refund or replacement, and we'll cover the return shipping too. Just contact us here with your order number and how we can help you.

When will my order be dispatched?
We dispatch orders every weekday (excluding public holidays), with our courier collecting from the roastery at 8am each morning. Most orders arrive within 2–5 working days across New Zealand. Once your order has been dispatched, we'll send you a tracking link so you can follow its journey.
Can I return or exchange my order?
If we've sent the wrong item or your order arrives faulty or damaged, we'll make it right. Simply get in touch with our team and we'll organise a replacement or refund as quickly as possible. For more information, please see our Returns Policy.

We believe in stocking fewer, better products. Everything you'll find at Mt Atkinson has been carefully chosen because we genuinely use it, trust it and believe it adds value to your daily routine. Yes! We offer Click & Collect from our roastery on weekdays (excluding public holidays). Simply select Click & Collect at checkout, and we'll let you know by email as soon as your order is ready to collect.

Good coffee tastes better when you know who it's from
90% of coffee is traded on price alone, set by people with no connection to those who grow it. We don't think that's good enough. Direct trade means paying well above the commodity rate, building long-term relationships with the same Ugandan communities since 2018, and funding growers through the off-season.
