This is one of two Ipu putiputi (vases/urns) made with support from Te Toi Uki, The Crown Lynn & Clay works Museum and Te Pou Theatre.
This vessel has been made in a celebration of Wāhine and the era of 60/70s crown Lynn. They are inspired by the Crown Lynn urns of this time. There was a small amount of hand thrown urns made for Crown Lynn and these are a priced collectors item still today. Thea ceramics have designed a creamy matte glaze to emulate that glaze style of the Crown Lynns range of urns.
